Mr. McManus was born and raised in Houston, Texas, where he found his affection for theatre, blues music, and tacos. He is a performer, director, and designer that teaches Acting and Technical Theatre as the Theatre Director at Tompkins High School in Katy ISD. McManus earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting from the University of Georgia and holds an undergraduate degree in Theatre and Political Science from Stephen F. Austin State University. He has trained at The Second City - Chicago in the areas of improvisation and sketch writing and has had the opportunity to perform, direct, and tech professionally at A.D. Players, Firecracker Productions and the internationally-renowned Orlando Fringe Festival. Mr. McManus has taught students as an Instructor of Record at the University of Georgia and Alief Hastings High School. If there's ever downtime between productions and teaching, he loves to sing loudly; compose music with guitars, drum machines, and tambourine; write sketch comedy comprised of unfortunate puns; travel to new places with a compass; and take advantage of the vibrant theatre around town.
